Parker Performing Arts School Board of Directors
In a parent led charter school, the Board of Directors governs the school in a similar way that the Board of Education governs a district led neighborhood school. The Parker Performing Arts School Board of Directors are all unpaid volunteers who have full time jobs, families, and also take on these duties for the school.
Director Jason Sanders, Vice President
Jason Sanders is excited to serve on the board of Parker Performing Arts during the school’s development phase. Jason has bachelor’s and master’s degrees in physics from Utah State University and a law degree from Georgetown University Law Center. He has worked in the science and engineering fields as an engineer, scientist, and attorney.
Today, Jason is a patent attorney where he provides patent counseling for Fortune 500 companies, universities, and start-up companies. In college, he was the payload manager for a number of experiments that flew aboard the Space Shuttle Discovery. Jason founded Ben Franklin Academy in Highlands Ranch, Colorado, and has since worked with other developing charter schools.
Re-elected June 2015 to serve until May 2018.
Director Gail Nguyen, Secretary
Gail is a licensed Realtor and Certified Negotiation Expert specializing in residential real estate in the Greater Metro Denver area. After graduating from the University of Colorado with a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Gail has worked in various areas of real estate as well as general accounting. Gail’s commitment to the development and continued success of Parker Performing Arts School has included serving on the Volunteer Management Committee, Grant Writing Committee, and the Enrollment & Lottery Committee.
Gail lives in Parker with her husband and children. She feels very connected to the community of Parker and enjoys her time teaching Sunday school as well as serving on the Children’s Ministry Council at her local church.
Elected to serve March 2016 until March of 2019.
Director Sean Wiggin, Treasurer
Sean Wiggin is a native Coloradoan who grew up in Aurora. He has an undergraduate business degree from the University of Northern Colorado and both a Master’s of Business Administration and a Master’s of Science Finance from the University of Colorado at Denver.
Professionally Sean works in the Financial Services sector specializing in Qualified Retirement Plans.
He now lives in Parker with his wife and their two kids. Sean’s affiliation with Parker Performing Arts began in November 2014 with a community meeting about the school as he and his wife were trying to determine Kindergarten options for their son. The school’s commitment to the Four C’s (creativity, critical thinking, collaboration and communication) resonated with Sean not only as key skills for the performing arts, but also for the job market.
Sean is an avid cyclist, having completed some of the well known Colorado Century Rides, including Elephant Rock and the Colorado-Eagle River Ride. Prior to joining the PPAS Board he served as Treasurer of the Rocky Mountain Scottish Athletes.
Elected June 2015 to serve until May 2017.
Director Jan Payne
Jan fell in love with the arts at a young age, and after attending Aspen Music School decided to move from Kansas to Colorado. Jan has a Bachelor’s in Music Education with minors in art history and dance from Wichita State University, and a Master’s in Business Administration from University of Phoenix.
Jan’s teaching experience includes music in Colorado public schools and international private schools, and management, leadership, communications, and humanities classes at the undergraduate and graduate levels. She is a licensed private investigator, has held various roles in higher education administration, and currently provides consulting services for organizations and individuals.
Jan lives in Castle Rock with her husband and sphynx cats. She volunteers with a local hospice and has found great reward in working with caregivers and families.
Since becoming acquainted with Parker Performing Arts School in November 2015, spending time with their board members, and learning more about their planning and vision, she has sought to become a part of this exciting endeavor.
Elected June 2016 to serve until May 2019.
Director Aaron Adamson
Aaron Adamson is a native Coloradoan and is excited to bring his experience in education, performing arts, and technology to the Parker Performing Arts board. He lives in Parker with his wife Kim, daughter Amity, and son Everest.
Aaron studied physics with an emphasis in secondary education at the University of Northern Colorado and recieved a Bachelor’s of Science degree. He was an avid participant in band and theater throughout high school, and has continued to be an active musician ever since.
Aaron has been involved with education in various capacities, most recently as a science teacher at a STEM charter school. Currently, he works as an engineer at a local aerospace company. He continues to stay involved with education by volunteering on student robotics teams, and now by serving on the PPAS Board of directors.
Elected October 2016 to serve until October 2019.
