Technology Education Director
My name is Hayden Galler, and I will be the Technology Education Director. Hailing from the land of tornadoes, BBQ, and the World Series Champion Royals, my wife Sarah, son Lawrence (19 months old) and I are relocating to the mile high city of Denver, Colorado, from Overland Park, Kansas. My experience of working with children goes all the way back to when I was a counselor at a day camp during the summer of 2001. After my first summer working with kids, I knew I wanted to spend my professional life working with young minds. I attended the University of Kansas (Rock Chalk!) where I received a Bachelor’s of Science in Education, and then I set out to become an elementary school teacher. I was hired at Hyman Brand Hebrew Academy (HBHA) as the 3rd grade general studies teacher and through my 7 years, I used technology to create engaging activities to make learning fun and meaningful. It has always been my philosophy that technology should be used as a tool to promote pedagogy and not the end result itself, which is what I have implemented into my own classroom.
During my time as a 3rd grade teacher, I decided I wanted to have a bigger impact on students, school culture and the community, so I began to work towards being an administrator. I graduated from Baker University in 2014 with a Master’s of Science in School Leadership. Shortly after completing my masters, I discovered the field of educational technology, and I knew this was my passion. During the 2015-2016 school year I became the science and technology teacher and began expanding my knowledge of different educational hardware and software. I began the search for the perfect job, and I came across a wonderful opportunity at Parker Performing Arts School (PPA). After many discussions and interviews with Principal Burgess, I knew there was something special happening at PPA, and I wanted to be a part of the team. I feel very fortunate to become a member of the PPA community and assisting in laying the foundation for the future.
