Lee Ann Scherlong is blessed and honored to be the founding  Artistic Education Director at Parker Performing Arts School.  A native of Colorado, Lee Ann earned a B.A in Music Education K-12 with a music therapy certificate from Colorado State University.  Lee Ann spent the next eight years teaching vocal music in Colorado Springs.  She returned to CSU to complete two master’s degrees in Vocal Performance and Choral Conducting and began a performance career in addition to doctoral work in Vocal Performance and Opera Directing at the University of Northern Colorado.  Lee Ann has had amazing opportunities working with young people, both in Aurora as a dean of students and vocal music director, a charter school as a theatre/choir teacher,  as well as with groups such as CYT, Northglenn Youth Theatre and as a founder of the Augustana Institute of Music.

As a performing artist, Lee Ann has been a featured mezzo soprano soloist and performer in Denver and throughout the region, most notably appearing with the Greeley Philharmonic Orchestra, the Arvada Center Chorale, the Omaha Chamber Orchestra, the Arapahoe Philharmonic Orchestra, the Larimer Chorale, the Cherry Creek Chorale, Evergreen Chorale, Jefferson Symphony, the Colorado Bach Ensemble, Voices West, Colorado Chamber Orchestra and the Colorado Music Festival.  At home both in opera and musical theatre, regional theatre performances include appearances with Performance Now, Union Colony Dinner Theatre, Longmont Theatre, Spotlight Theatre Company and the Platte Valley Players as well as with Opera Fort Collins, Colorado State Opera Theatre, University of Northern Colorado Opera Theatre, and Augustana Arts.  Music directing/conducting credits include Ragtime, Nunsense, Spamalot, Side by Side by Sondheim, Seussical, Sound of Music, My Fair Lady, Camelot, Brigadoon, Wizard of Oz,  Jane Eyre and Titanic, the later receiving an Ovation award nomination and a Marlowe award. As a choral singer, Lee Ann performed with Robert Shaw and the Shaw Festival Singers in New York and will the William Hall Master Chorale as well as with Augustana Vocal Ensemble (AVE), a professional quartet in Denver.  

Lee Ann is an active performer, music director and voice teacher/coach in the area and is passionate about creating a culture for rigorous academics and meaningful engagement in the arts.
