I am thrilled to be the Literacy Director of Parker Performing Arts School. Throughout my K-12 education, my parents raised me entrenched in the performing arts. I had the privilege of playing the violin, piano, flute, and percussion. I was a dancer (tap, ballet, jazz) from elementary through middle school, and spent my high school years in the marching band, color guard, and my school and city youth orchestra.
I earned my bachelor’s degree in Interdisciplinary Studies (Elementary Education and Special Education) from the University of North Texas and my master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Colorado Christian University. I also received Reading Recovery/Literacy training and certification through Texas Woman’s University and the University of Denver.
Outside of the school day, you’ll find me fly-fishing, camping, and exploring every square mile of the great outdoors with my family. My husband and I have a daughter attending the University of Northern Colorado, a son in middle school, and a lovable German Shepherd we adore!
