How is PPA Free?

At Parker Performing Arts School (PPA), the tuition-free, audition-free K-8 public charter school, our professionally trained teachers offer their expertise in a unique program that combines academics and arts for students in elementary and middle school.

Founded to be Free

Parker Performing Arts middle school boys and girls dance during a performance of Spooktacular.

PPA was founded in 2016 to keep the arts free and accessible for all K-8 students in Douglas County. The Colorado Department of Education defines a charter school as:

a public school operated by a group of parents, teachers and/or community members

as a semi-autonomous school of choice, operating under a contract or "charter" contract between the members of the charter school community and either the local board of education or the state Charter School Institute (CSI), depending on which entity oversees the charter school.

Douglas County School District oversees PPA, the only arts-focused K-8 charter school serving the county.

How to Enroll

Parker Performing Arts School elementary students perform on stage dressed to represent life on a farm.

No audition is required to attend PPA. Artistic instruction is offered at the beginning, intermediate, and advanced levels. To enroll parents submit the intent to enroll form.

Students are enrolled through a lottery that remains open until all available seats are filled.

Whether your child is a budding ballerina or a veteran vocalist, at PPA they can develop their skills and expand their repertoire in a supportive environment where learning happens in the classroom and on the stage.
