Our Middle Schoolers Are Thriving!

Here’s what families are saying about our creative school for creative kids.

“Both my sons have absolutely thrived at PPA and we are so grateful to belong in this           community. They have excelled in the arts, are happy and are doing great academically.”

“Our son was successful here where he could thrive in this culture. The opportunities go way past the sports and actually prepare these children to live in the real world. Theater, music, and dance programs are wonderful.

“The school has been amazing for my 8th grader and he is so sad to have to move on to high school this year without an option to continue with PPA. He is more than high school ready and will start high school ahead of his peers in academics thanks to PPA!

Not Your Typical Middle School

Unlike many others, PPA’s middle school starts in 5th grade. This opens a world of opportunities for kids who are ready for engaging classroom experiences including our arts electives and with dynamic teachers like Zak Sloan who brings history to life.

5 Parker Performing Arts middle school students are gathered together talking in the hallway between classes.

Every 5th grader learns to play an instrument which not only expands their exposure to a new form of artistic expression, but develops skills they’ll rely on throughout their lives – skills like perseverance, confidence, and collaboration.

While 5th and 6th graders spend the morning in academic classes, 7th and 8th graders are training in artistic disciplines that make up PPA’s 5 Artistic Pathways:

  • Dance
  • Vocal Music
  • Instrumental Music
  • Theater & Musical Theater
  • Visual Arts

Then they flip with our younger students practicing the arts while our older grades are in the academic classroom.

Throughout the day arts and academics mix as academic education standards are applied to the arts curriculum. The potential to use math, literacy, science, and history in the arts is limitless and offers another opportunity to engage with academic learning from a different perspective.

Rigorous academics and daily arts training are not the only ways PPA middle schoolers thrive. We have

  • Clubs like Technical Theatre, Improv, Math, and Dungeons & Dragons
  • Organizations including International Junior Thespian & National Junior Honor Society
  • National Honor Societies for art, dance, and music
  • Stage Productions throughout the school year
  • Performances in the Community
